Uyo Local Government marked World Malaria Day 2026 with a community outreach led by the Chairman's wife, Mrs. Akaninyene Uwemedimo, reaffirming the administration's commitment to promoting preventive healthcare and public awareness.
The outreach, held at the Primary Health Centre Operational Base on Wellington Bassey Way, was organised by the Victoria Oyiya Health Foundation in collaboration with Uyo Local Government.
Addressing participants, Mrs. Uwemedimo stressed the importance of malaria prevention, encouraging families, especially women and children, to adopt simple but effective health practices in the fight against the disease.
