Uyo Local Government, through its Gender-Based Violence Response Unit, convened a community dialogue on gender-based violence as part of efforts to promote safer and more inclusive communities.
Held in collaboration with the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Justice at the Uyo Traditional Rulers Council Hall, the town hall meeting brought together traditional rulers and community leaders to deepen awareness of gender-based violence and strengthen collective action against harmful practices.
The outreach reaffirmed the Council's commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of women and girls through sustained advocacy and community engagement.
